Project Overview:

Anne H. contacted One Stop Home Repair to breathe new life into her outdated home, with a focus on refreshing the interior and updating her porch. She wanted a more modern, inviting atmosphere and a polished look for her living spaces. The scope of work included:

  • Installing new lights
  • Adding crown moulding
  • Replacing the front door and updating the stairs
  • Painting, repairing drywall, and installing a new ceiling
  • A complete porch remodel

Challenges:

Anne’s home had an older, dim lighting system that made the interior feel drab. The walls and ceiling showed signs of wear, with cracked drywall and peeling paint. The front porch had weather damage and was in need of both structural and aesthetic updates to improve its functionality and curb appeal.

Solutions & Approach:

  1. New Lighting Installation
We replaced the outdated light fixtures with modern, energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the home. This not only brightened the interior but also added a touch of elegance to each room.
  2. Crown Moulding
To elevate the overall look of the interior, we installed custom crown moulding that added a timeless, sophisticated finish to Anne’s living room and hallway.
  3. New Door and Stairs
Anne’s old front door was replaced with a modern, weather-resistant entry door that improved security and energy efficiency. We also upgraded her stairs with sturdy, slip-resistant materials, creating a safer and more attractive entryway.
  4. Paint, Drywall, and New Ceiling
We repaired the damaged drywall and gave the interior walls a fresh coat of paint in neutral, contemporary tones. For the ceiling, we installed new panels with a smooth, clean finish that made the rooms feel larger and more open.
  5. Porch Remodel
The porch was completely remodeled with new flooring, sturdy railings, and weatherproof materials to ensure longevity. We added recessed lighting and comfortable seating areas, transforming it into a welcoming space where Anne could relax or entertain guests.

Results:

  • Bright and Inviting Interior: The new lighting, fresh paint, and ceiling updates gave the home a warm, welcoming feel, while the crown moulding added elegance and character.
  • Improved Functionality: The new front door and updated stairs made the entryway safer and more visually appealing.
  • Enhanced Porch Experience: The remodeled porch is now a standout feature of Anne’s home, offering an outdoor living space she can enjoy year-round.
  • Increased Home Value: These updates not only improved Anne’s day-to-day living but also significantly boosted her property’s market value.

Project Overview:

Kevin reached out to One Stop Home Repair to give his home’s exterior a much-needed facelift. His goals were to improve curb appeal, address some aging features, and boost the overall value of his property. We worked with Kevin on a comprehensive project that included:

  • Installing new siding
  • Replacing the garage trim and applying a fresh coat of paint
  • Upgrading the exterior light fixtures
  • Installing a new patio door

Challenges:

Kevin’s home had outdated siding that was starting to fade and show signs of wear, and the garage trim had peeling paint that was diminishing the house’s curb appeal. Additionally, the patio door was inefficient, causing drafts in the colder months, and the exterior light fixtures were outdated.

Solutions & Approach:

  1. New Siding Installation
Our team helped Kevin select a modern, durable siding material that would stand up to the elements and give the house a fresh, updated look. We installed high-quality vinyl siding, which is low maintenance and provides excellent insulation.
  2. Garage Trim & Paint
After removing the old trim, we replaced it with a weather-resistant, custom-trimmed material that complemented the new siding. A fresh coat of paint made the garage pop, enhancing the overall look of the home.
  3. Exterior Light Fixture Upgrade
We installed sleek, energy-efficient LED exterior light fixtures that added both style and security. These fixtures were chosen to match the updated modern look of the house while also improving nighttime visibility.
  4. New Patio Door Installation
The old patio door was replaced with a new, energy-efficient sliding door that not only sealed better against the elements but also let in more natural light, giving the home a brighter feel.

Results:

  • Enhanced Curb Appeal: Kevin’s home now stands out in the neighborhood with a modern, clean, and polished look.
  • Energy Efficiency: The new patio door and siding improved insulation, reducing heating and cooling costs.
  • Increased Property Value: These updates significantly boosted the value of Kevin’s home, making it a more attractive option for future buyers.
  • Low Maintenance: The materials we used for siding and trim are designed to last for years without requiring frequent upkeep.

Project Overview:
Gina’s aging deck was suffering from significant rot damage, especially in the support posts and stairs. Concerned about safety and functionality, Gina contacted One Stop Home Repair for a complete evaluation and restoration. After a thorough inspection, our team identified severe rot in several key areas and recommended a deck jacking process, installation of new support posts, and replacement of the deteriorating stairs.

Challenges:

  • Rot Damage: The extent of wood rot compromised the structural integrity of the deck, particularly in the posts supporting the entire structure.
  • Unstable Stairs: The rotting wood had spread to the stairs, making them unsafe to use.
  • Structural Support: The deck required temporary lifting (jacking) to allow for the removal and replacement of damaged posts without compromising the entire deck.

Our Solution:

  1. Deck Jacking: First, we used a specialized jacking process to carefully lift the deck and ensure its stability while the rotted posts were removed.
  2. New Support Posts: We installed new, pressure-treated posts, providing long-lasting structural support and preventing future rot issues.
  3. New Stairs Installation: The damaged stairs were completely replaced with sturdy, treated wood, ensuring a safe and attractive entry point to the deck.

Results:
After the repair, Gina’s deck was not only safe and sturdy but also looked as good as new. The new posts and stairs complemented the rest of the deck and are now resistant to weathering and rot. Gina can enjoy her outdoor space with peace of mind, knowing it’s built to last.
